Bespoke Banquette Seatingfor Restaurants, Hotels & PubsNorfolk & UK-wide
Fixed banquette and booth seating designed to your venue's exact geometry (curves, corners, radii, tricky returns) and manufactured to survive service after service in contract-grade fabric.
Fixed seating that unlocks covers and character
Banquette seating is one of the highest-return interventions a restaurant, hotel bar or pub can make. It squeezes more covers out of the same footprint, defines the room, and, when it's built properly, becomes the piece guests remember and photograph. It's also unforgiving: an off-the-shelf banquette that doesn't match your radius or your seat height ruins the whole effect.
Red Kite Furniture manufactures bespoke banquette and booth seating to your exact dimensions, measured on site, templated for curves and installed as a single continuous run. Everything is built to Crib 5 standard in contract-grade fabric, ready for a full trading week from day one.
We also build fixed banquettes for domestic kitchens and dining rooms: the same craft and the same durability, sized to the room rather than the specification sheet.
Where off-the-shelf banquettes fail
Modular banquettes rarely fit properly. Gaps at the wall, mismatched seat heights against your tables, foam that softens inside a season, and fabric that isn't Crib 5 documented. You end up spending the fit-out budget twice.
The other trap is dimensioning. Get the seat depth wrong by 30mm and guests either perch or slouch; either way, covers drop and dwell time suffers. Bespoke banquette design is measurement work as much as it is upholstery work.
Buying modular units that leave visible gaps or mismatched heights at wall returns
Under-specifying foam density (banquettes take heavy, concentrated use)
Choosing fabrics without documented Crib 5 for public settings
Skipping site templating for curves and returns
Forgetting service access panels for cleaning and cable routes
Simple to start. Precise to finish.
Design Brief
Send drawings, photos or a mood board. We discuss layout, seat height, back height, fabric, buttoning or fluting details.
Site Survey & Template
We survey and template curves, returns and level changes so the run installs as one continuous piece.
Manufacture
Hardwood frames, contract-density CMHR foam and Crib 5 fabric: fluted, buttoned, plain or piped to spec.
Delivery in Sections
Runs are made in sections sized for your access (doorways, stairs, lifts) so nothing arrives that can't get in.
On-Site Install
Our team installs on site, joining sections seamlessly and fixing to walls or floors as required.
Concrete benefits, not brochure copy.
More Covers
Fixed seating uses wall space efficiently, often 15–25% more covers than freestanding chairs.
Design Signature
Curved banquettes, tall backs, fluting and contrast piping give a room its identity.
Made to the Millimetre
Templated on site, so returns, radii and level changes install cleanly with no visible gaps.
Contract-Grade Build
Hardwood frames, CMHR foam and Crib 5 fabric, engineered for constant use.
Access-Planned
Sections sized to your doorways and stairs so install day is boring, not a nightmare.
Reupholsterable
Because we build the frames, we can reupholster them in place years later, extending the life of the asset.
Banquette specification, how we build them
Banquette seating is a system of frame, foam, upholstery and fixing. Get each layer right and it holds up for years; get one wrong and the whole run tires quickly.
Frame construction
Hardwood carcasses (typically beech or ply on hardwood) glued, screwed and corner-blocked. For curved runs we template on site and cut the frame to suit; no forcing straight sections into a curved wall.
Foam & seat comfort
Contract-density CMHR foam, layered where a softer top-feel is specified. Seat depth is set to the table height and the intended dwell: deeper for lounge banquettes, shallower for dining.
Back styles
Plain, fluted (channelled), buttoned, and tall-back private-booth designs. Piping and contrast stitching are specified to match the interior scheme.
Fabric & finish
Documented Crib 5 fabrics from major contract mills, or Customer's Own Material (COM/COL) which we upholster; the fire-retardancy specification stays with the client.
Commercial vs domestic
In hospitality we build to Crib 5 with contract fabrics. For kitchen and dining-room banquettes at home, we build to match and cigarette test compliance in domestic fabrics or leather.

Straight answers, before you enquire.
How is the seat height decided?+
Standard dining table + banquette pairing is a 450mm seat height against a 720–740mm table. Bar-height, low-lounge and bespoke pairings are set to your table spec on the site survey.
Can you do curved banquettes?+
Yes, curves and radiused corners are templated on site so the frame is cut to the actual room, not an assumed radius.
What does a banquette cost?+
It's driven by length, curvature, back style, foam spec and fabric. Every quote is itemised and free. Site surveys are chargeable but their cost is included in the final quote.
How long does install take?+
Most restaurant runs install in a day or two on site, depending on complexity and access. We'll confirm timings when we scope your project.
Can you reupholster our existing banquettes?+
Yes, often on site, so your venue keeps trading. See our on-site reupholstery service.
Do you build for domestic kitchens?+
Yes. Kitchen banquette seating is a growing part of our domestic work and is built to the same standards, sized to the room.
Do you supply the tables too?+
We can supply bespoke tables to match, or coordinate with your existing table supplier so seat heights work correctly.
How do you fix them to the wall or floor?+
Depending on the substrate and design, banquettes are wall-fixed, floor-fixed or freestanding on hidden feet, confirmed at site survey.
