Founded to solve a specific hospitality problem.
Red Kite Furniture was founded in 2007 by Shane Ison to give hospitality operators a genuine alternative to imported contract furniture and slow, disruptive off-site reupholstery. Around 90% of what we now make is for restaurants, hotels, pubs, bars and healthcare. The remaining 10% is domestic sofas, chairs, headboards and bespoke commissions built to the same standard.
We specialise in three things: contract manufacture to Crib 5, fixed banquette and booth seating designed to the millimetre, and on-site reupholstery that keeps your venue trading while we work. Every frame, every stitch and every finish is produced by our own team in Norwich, never sub-contracted overseas.
We work directly with venue owners and alongside interior designers, architects and fit-out contractors, from a single reupholstered booth to a full multi-site rollout.

Our standard is simple: build furniture that survives daily hospitality use, meets contract compliance, and looks as good on year five as it did on day one. That standard applies whether the job is one dining chair or a fifty-cover banquette run.
